This website is part of a proposal submitted to the Natural History Museum in Oxford for a coming exhibition : Settlers: Genetics, Geography and the Peopling of Britain Exhibition. In addition to proposing a work of art to be displayed at the exhibition, we proposing an experiment whereby users can make judegments on the ethnic origins of people by looking at their faces. Data will be collected and results will be revealed at the end of the experiment. What we know to begin:
- DNA is revealing some surprising results. Facial pictures can be clues but there are always surprises.
- New tests can now show our ethnic origins.
- Questions to ask: Where did they come from? What populations are they linked to? Where are their roots?
- The experiment to start: 10-12 facial pictures with quiz questions
- Those taking part will have agreed to their pictures being shown and to having their DNA Tested.
